Welcome to the Fischler School

Congratulations on being accepted into the Fischler School of Education and Human Services doctoral program at Nova Southeastern University. Welcome to the Doctoral Studies Orientation (DSO) online!

DSO 8000 is a requirement for all new students entering the doctoral program. The DSO is presented in a fully on-line format via WebCT.  If you require instructions for accessing WebCT, a tutorial assistant is available at the following link:  http://www.nova.edu/webct/getting_start.html. You will find the course listed in WebCT by mid afternoon on the start date.

All DSO 8000 sections have a designated start date and end date for the completion of all required orientation activities (a two week total timeframe). You are invited to access the orientation and progress at your own pace; however, all work must be completed prior to the end date.  If you do not complete the DSO within the mandated timeframe, you will may not be able to access the orientation in WebCT once the time passed .  You may be required to re-register for a different section and begin again. If you complete the DSO successfully within the timeframe, you will still have access to the orientation for purposes of reviewing at a later date if you wish.

NOTE: Final grades are not posted until the end of the registration term, even though your completion timeframe for the orientation is a two week period within the 4 month term. Summer term (e.g.200850) grades are posted in August. Fall term (e.g.200920) grades are posted in December and Winter term (e.g.200930) grades are posted in May.
