Is the doctoral fellowship program a residence program?

Yes, the doctoral fellowship is a residence program. Fellows work and study on campus at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services, North Miami Beach , FL.

What happens when fellows arrive?

Fellows will take part in an orientation program. A detailed schedule will be given to each fellow upon arrival.

Is student housing available on campus?

No. Fellows need to locate suitable off-campus housing. There is an abundance of rentals in the area.

How is the fellowship stipend paid?

The $30,000 stipend is paid biweekly over the 12-month period of the fellowship.

Must I be accepted in one of the doctoral programs before I can be awarded a fellowship?

Applications must be fully accepted and currently enrolled in one of the six doctoral programs before they can be awarded a fellowship.

Can I e-mail my application materials?

No. applications must be received through the website at www.nsujobs.com. Next open position to be announced.

What happens to my application materials once they are submitted ?

A panel of distinguished faculty and administrators will review applications to choose a short list of those to be interviewed. Applicants on the short list will be notified.

The panel will conduct telephone interviews with applicants on the short list. Interview dates and times will be arranged between the panel and the interviewees and each interview will last about 30 minutes. On the basis of the interviews, up to six finalists will be chosen.

When will applicants who have been chosen for the fellowships be notified?

Applicants to be awarded fellowships will initially be notified via phone within 2-3 weeks of their interviews. This initial notification will be followed by an offer letter in the U. S. mail; recipients will be asked to respond by letter accepting or declining the fellowship offer.
