Provost Message

H. Wells Singleton, Ph.D.

Nova Southeastern University is the largest independent institution of higher education in Florida and the 10th largest independent institution in the United States . The Fischler School of Education and Human Services is one of the largest graduate schools of education in the western hemisphere, with more than 10,000 students in 50 cities and more than 20 U.S. states, as well as eight other countries.

We have worked hard in recent years to analyze existing and emerging needs for education, to organize our tremendous resources to meet those needs, and to move "ahead of the curve" in developing and delivering educational services anywhere in the world, any time they are required.

As we enter the new millennium, we remain committed to creating, customizing, and delivering quality educational services that incorporate applied solutions to community and workplace challenges, and that anticipate future needs.

We believe our doctoral fellowship program is among the most prestigious in the United States . We have positioned this program “ahead of the curve”. Fellows not only work with distinguished faculty and administrators, but side by side with executive deans and the provost on matters of strategic significance.

Executive Dean’s Message

Tara Saltzman, Ph.D.

Thank you for joining NSU’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services (NSU-FESHS) as a Doctoral Fellow.  We have a long history of successful relationships with the external community including both individual schools and school districts as well as with corporations, non-profits, and agencies; your role here will be to nurture and to foster these relationships. At the Fischler School, we believe this success can be attributed to our ability to work closely with our partners to develop solutions that meet their specific needs-from professional development to assessment and strategic planning. A doctoral fellow is the key to ensuring the success of these partnerships.

The Office of Strategic Initiatives and Global Enterprise for Academic Development (S.I.G.E.A.D.) supports the mission of the Fischler School by adding value to relationships and partnerships. Through these collaborations, we, in turn, increase enrollment and awareness of the school’s programming. In our role as liaison, we serve all Fischler School offices and divisions related to the creation, maintenance, and status of these relationships between the school, corporations, and other entities.

The Office of Strategic Initiatives and Global Enterprise for Academic Development (S.I.G.E.A.D.), assists in the development, management and maintenance of these partnerships. As a doctoral fellow and a member of S.I.G.E.A.D., you will have the opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and administrators, as well as executive deans and the Provost, on matters of strategic significance.
