PROJECT OBJECTIVES

PHASE I - The PROPOSAL*
Upon completion of Phase I of this course, the student is expected to have:

  • used the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Graduate Teacher Education Program (GTEP) applied research model in collaboration with an on-site administrator/verifier and an assigned NSU project advisor/coach to identify a work-related improvement project that addresses his/her chosen specialization area..
  • collected statistical data to document the problem with a specified target group, reviewed current relevant professional literature on theory and practice related to the problem, proposed a solution to be implemented with the specified target group(s) and written and submitted a completed proposal to the assigned NSU project advisor/coach for approval prior to implementation.

*(3 cr.) The project advisor/coach will evaluate and approve the completed proposal using the Proposal Evaluation form and grant subsequent permission for implementation to begin.
* (6 cr.) The project advisor/coach will evaluate and approve the completed proposal using the Proposal Evaluation formand will grant subsequent permission for implementation to begin. The Office of Applied Field Experiences official reader will provide a narrative critique of the proposal with recommendations for changes required prior to implementationor in the final report.

PHASE II - The IMPLEMENTATION
Upon completion of Phase II of this course, the student is expected to have:

  • conducted implementation of the planned intervention project for a specified period with the approval of the project advisor/coach and with observation by the on-site administrator/verifier,
  • addressed all stated objectives during implementation, and kept a log of all activities to monitor, refine, and evaluate progress independently, using proposed evaluation tools.

PHASE III - The FINAL REPORT*
Upon completion of Phase III of this course, the student is expected to have:

  • prepared and submitted a final report with advice of the project advisor/coach and based upon the proposal that includes data collected during implementation;
  • reported on the results of posttesting with scores provided for each member of the target group; made recommendations for ongoing use of the project, and provided advice for those wishing to replicate the project.

*(3 cr.) The project administrator/coach will evaluate the final product that includes results and rate the project using the Report Evaluation form.

The administrator/verifier will provide a brief narrative on the Project Verification form regarding the impact of implementation upon the target group.

*(6 cr.) The project advisor/coach will evaluate the final report and rate the project using the Report Evaluation. The 5-point Likert scale instrument provides for evaluation of preparation of the documents as well as for implementation. A grade of "Pass" or "Fail" will be assigned by the Applied Field Experience Office faculty after reviewing the final report and related documents.

The administrator/verifier will provide a brief narrative on the Project Verification form regarding the impact of implementation upon the target group.
