M.S. in Education with Specialization In
Environmental Education (OCEE)

MS in Environmental Education (OCEE)
Master of Science in Education with specialization in Environmental Education degree candidates complete this specialization using the Program of Study posted below. Environmental Education is a National/International Online Cluster Program of the National Graduate Teacher Education Program.  Students entering this specialization are assigned to a cluster/cohort group and take two courses per term.

Master of Science Degree in Environmental Education
Master of Science in Education with specialization in Environmental Education is designed for educational professionals who seek to incorporate environmental education perspectives within their curricula.  Through the interdisciplinary examination of current cultural contexts, socioeconomic factors and formal and informal educational settings, students will gain a critical perspective on the theory and practice of environmental education.  This examination will be based upon the students' personal teaching experiences.  Upon completion of the program, students will have developed a personal conceptual framework for environmental education and have applied these concepts to curriculum design.

Nova Southeastern University is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). NGTE programs are aligned with appropriate national and professional standards. Because our students come from many states as well as areas outside the United States, these programs are not developed in accordance with any particular state certification requirements.

NGTE students should contact their state department of education for guidance in obtaining certification or licensure, or contact their local school district for approval in fulfilling district-level incentive programs. Certification requirements vary by state and district. Completion of an NGTE program of study does not guarantee certification.
