Gubernatorial Appointment
The Fischler School of Education and Human Services is proud to announce the recent gubernatorial appointment of Dr. Delores M. Smiley to the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers (FFMT) Board of Directors. Directors are appointed to serve three-year terms. Last Spring, Smiley was named as NSU’s Executive of the year and just recently received notice that the Master of Science degree in Instructional Design and Diversity Education that she authored had been approved by the NSU Board of Trustees.
The mission of the FFMT is (a) To increase the number of minority teachers in Florida to better reflect our stat’s diverse population, (b) To provide financial awards and extensive pre-professional development, and (c) To positively impact public education by expanding knowledge paradigms of learning and teaching in preparing our youth.
