Meet the Dean

Delores M. Smiley, Ed.D.
My professional background includes a broad range of skills relating to education in the fields of administration and teaching.
As an administrator, I served as the director of a student support services program at Siena Heights College in Adrian Michigan, was a program coordinator for the Programs for Higher Education at Nova Southeastern University (NSU)—later, named associate director. Other positions at NSU include associate dean for cluster development and marketing, director of administrative services, and presently Dean of the Office of Community Education and Diversity Affairs.
My teaching experience includes five years of secondary teaching in grades 9-12 in English and Social Studies as well as community education in the Albion, Michigan school system. At the college/university level, I taught freshmen and sophomore English composition and writing, Research, African American Experience, and Critical Reading and Thinking. Currently, I teach leadership courses in the doctoral programs.
I have served on master’s thesis committees and currently serve on Applied Dissertation committees as reader and as advisor.
