FISCHLER DIVERSITY FILM FESTIVAL
In early June 2007, Drs. Maryellen Maher, Kim Durham and Delores Smiley began discussions about developing a diversity film festival for the employees at Fischler School of Education and Human Services. The purpose of this project is to provide another outreach for building community at Fischler. The plan is to monitor success with the intent of expanding the outreach to the external community. We have discussed a number of films that may be considered and decided to begin with a “light-hearted” but provocative presentation. Each of the films (See list below) will be followed with moderated discussion. The following process is in place:
- Begin with the first film on Friday, December 6, 2007, at 1:30 p.m
- Serve light snacks.
- Continue on a monthly basis until the end of June.
- Evaluate at the end of June to determine the level of success and possible continuance.
- Publicize the event on FIN.
- Expansion of our FDFF committee upon common consent.
