NSU Programs:
Institute of Life-long Learning Institute: The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) is Nova Southeastern University’s far-reaching educational program for older adults. A department in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, the LLI continues its strong role in the Broward County community by featuring faculty members from the college and other NSU centers, as well as prominent visiting experts in the humanities, sciences, health care, government, and other fields. Senior Net : Direct Quote: “Over the last few years, we’ve begun being concerned about the rest of those seniors—those who can’t afford their own computers but still want to become part of the information age. They have pride and motivation but lack the needed financial resources. What can we do for them? After talking about it for more than a year, Cecil Sugarman, one of our senior volunteers pursued a foundation grant. We (Al and Cecil) then wrote a formal funding proposal for a small pilot program and submitted it to Nova Southeastern University, our SeniorNet host and sponsor, and had it approved to submit to the funding agency.” -Dr. Al Mizell and Cecil Sugarman.
