Summer Conference

Admissions

  • Primary Audience of this degree:

    Practicing professionals with background in human services, human resources, staff developers, trainers, military personnel, middle managers, business administration, and non-profit administration or a related field.

  • Admission Requirements:

    • Official transcripts are required from the applicant for ALL previously attended institutions for FULL admittance.
    • Applicants must hold a master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
      • All foreign transcripts should be submitted with their official evaluation.

    • Score of the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) (800) 622-3231 or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (609) 771-7670. The test must have been taken within the past five years.

  • Provisional Admission:

    Any student admitted provisionally is not eligible for financial aid. Provisionally admitted students are permitted to register for one term and must meet requirements for full admission status by the 90th day of the first term of enrollment or further registration will not be permitted.   • Transfer of Credit Policies:


    • Request for transfer of credit must occur at the time of application.
    • A maximum of six semester hours of credit will be considered for transfer if the credit was earned within the three calendar years of request for transfer.
    • If the credit was earned as a matriculated student in a doctoral program at a regionally accredited university, and if the content of the courses requested for transfer is equivalent to the study area courses in the program. This request should include an explanation and related course description(s).
    • Courses transferred for credit must be at the grade of A or B, or equivalent. No credit for experiential learning or other forms of advanced standing will be granted.
    • Applicants who wish to request evaluation of prior coursework for consideration as transfer credit should note this on their application, send course descriptions, and request that official transcripts be sent to the Enrollment Processing Services Department (EPS).
    • Current doctoral candidates should request and receive prior written approval from the office of the Associate Dean of Doctoral Programs before enrolling in any other institution’s courses that are intended to be submitted for transfer credit.

  • Program format:

    • Program (coursework and dissertation) is designed to be completed in 3 years. However, students have a maximum of 5 years to complete the program.
    • Attendance at the Summer Conference is a requirement for all doctoral students admitted to FSEHS doctoral programs as of the 2004 fall term. The conference is focused on research dissemination and dissertation development. Research courses and dissertation seminars will be offered in a face-to-face format to permit students to continue study in the research areas.     • 66-credit program.
    • Live/online or total online delivery option.
    • New students admitted three times a year.
    • $675.00 per credit (subject to change).
    • Continuing services fees are applied when working on dissertation after completion of all course work.

  • All students admitted to a doctoral program will be assigned to an online or regional cohort depending of the program of study. The Field Associate will serve as the liaison between students and FSEHS, and thus will assist students with registration concerns, program outline planning, and general operations. The Field Associate will hold regular office hours online, will conduct online chats and information sessions, will provide e-mail contacts for individuals, and will provide an online vehicle for cohort members to maintain ongoing communications among the cohort. The Office of Field Services will assign cohort advisers and will provide contact information to students and advisers during the initial terms of enrollment.
  • Term Structure:

    Winter Term: January through April*
    Summer Term: May through August*
    Fall Term: September through December*

    *Classes start on or about the first day of the month.
