Notice to all DOL students:

With the implementation of the Education Major in the fall of 2005 and the phasing out of the old DOL curriculum, students will be given opportunities to complete the LDR specialization courses and ARO research courses in the old DOL programs according to the schedule below.

Winter 2007
All courses in all specializations will be offered for the last time. This will be the last opportunity for DOL students to take the first course in the three-course specialization sequence.

Winter 2008
Specializations in the old DOL curriculum will not be offered. Students will have to make arrangements to take courses in the Education Major with the assistance of doctoral program advisers.

Students should plan to complete their programs with the above timelines in mind. However, although courses from the old program will be eliminated, students who do not complete all degree requirements in the old program by the end of the 2007 fall term will be given the opportunity to take comparable courses in the new Education Major (ARC and EDD prefix courses).

Note: This announcement does not apply to students who began their doctoral studies in new EdD major in the fall of 2005 or later.

  • Sunset of ARO Courses

Notice to all DOL students:

With the implementation of the Education Major, the applied research courses for the “old” curricula will be phased out. All students in the DOL program must complete their ARO courses according to the following schedule:

1. All ARO 8511 and ARO 8513 courses will be terminated after the close of the fall 2006 semester.

2. All ARO 8512 courses will be terminated after the close of the winter 2007 semester.

3. All ARO elective curses (i.e., ARO 8514, ARO 8515, and ARO 8516) will be terminated after the close of the summer 2007 semester.

You should plan your academic program with the above timelines in mind. However, although the above courses will be eliminated, students who do not complete the above courses will be given the opportunity to complete new ARC courses to complete their doctoral studies.
