A Distinguished History

Professional organizations have a long and distinguished history in higher education. Traditionally, organizations have selected their membership on the basis of eligibility standards that have been applied to all graduates of accredited institutions. Historically, graduate degree status has been used as the eligibility criteria. While this criterion was originally designed for all graduate levels, the minimum has been at the master's degree level. We at Fischler School of Education and Human Services are attempting to raise the standard of professional education to the doctorate level. This should quickly result in an organization that is focused more on professional accomplishments.
