The Programs in Speech-Language and Communication Disorders offer the master’s degree in speech-language pathology in two distance formats. Students in remote locations form a cluster and receive instruction via compressed video, which is a two way interactive audio-video medium. A second format is offered online using primarily Web-based instruction. The content of the distance courses is identical to those taught on the main campus. Students generally enroll in two courses per semester in either the online or the interactive video formats. Students can complete the academic coursework and clinical practica in two and a half to three years, but may elect to extend the completion of the clinical clock hour requirement to the fourth year.

The online program offers students the opportunity to earn their master’s degree from home, at times convenient to their schedule. The Programs will secure clinical rotations and externships in each student’s geographic area. Interested applicants should know that the course work of the on-line program mirrors that of the residential/traditional Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Applicants should be prepared to devote, at minimum, the same amount of time to an on-line course as they would to a traditional course.
Students must live more than a one hour drive from Nova Southeastern University’s main campus, or from one of the NSU distance sites, to be eligible for the on line delivery option.
