Workshop Overview

The workshop focuses on identifying age - appropriate literature based activities that are integrated into library media programming and that reinforce the state/district language arts initiatives.

Objectives

• Identify characteristics and interests of secondary students
• Locate resources for planning and Impletrnenting a literarture based library media program
• Correlate activities to the American Association of School Librarians (AASL} student standards and to the Florida Department of Education READS document
• Identify quality age appropriate literature resources in a variety of resources
• Develop a literature based library media program plan of action
