Course Description
The program provides leaders responsible for directing distance education and training initiatives with critical skills needed to succeed including establishing strategic direction, procurement, implementation, distance learning management, and evaluation. Participants interact with leading distance learning leaders and a professional distance learning instructional team.
Learning Outcomes
Developing a Distance Learning Business Plan including:
- organizational vision
- leadership profile and plan
- personnel plan and funding outline
- instructional design plan and
- system implementation strategy
- distance learning foundations and application
- knowledge base
- networking with other distance learning leaders
Target Audience
The Distance Learning Leaders Certificate Program is designed for professionals in a wide range of positions including chief learning officers, higher education distance education directors, training directors and managers, educational technology directors, and teachers.
Instructional Model
Each participant will receive:
- a CD containing the videos, audio content, PowerPoint presentations, and templates used in the course
- a notebook containing course materials
- textbook and other materials
- a Distance Learning Leader Certificate (upon successful completion of both the on-site and online content)

NSU students and alumni, and USDLA members are eligible for a discounted $850 tuition.
Program registration(s) must be accompanied by payment in full (via purchase order, credit card, or check made payable to Nova Southeastern University). Substitutions may be made any time, even on site.
Request for registration or cancellation received after June 29, 2007, will incur a $150 processing fee.
