Early Childhood Education Administrators Training
The
specialization for early childhood education are designed specifically
for managers, directors, and administrators of early childhood, preschool,
and early childhood education programs.
The Program offers four main skill areas in eleven courses:
- Foundations
of Early Childhood Development
provides the theories and approaches in child development and their
application to the design of programs for young children. The emphasis
is on program selection, development, and implementation.
- The Courses include:
- Developmental Foundation for
Early Childhood
- Approaches to Individualized
Instruction in Early Childhood Education
- Curriculum Design
- Management
of Early Childhood Programs: Legal and Financial Aspects and Program
Evaluation provides
basic background in financial aspects, program evaluation, and legal
issues related to the management of programs for young children.
- The Courses include:
- Program Evaluetion for Child
and Youth Care Administrators
- Legal Aspects of the Management
of Programs for Children and Youth
- Financial Aspects of the Management
of Programs for Children and Youth
- The
Administration of Programs for Young Children covers how to manage a variety
of programs and agencies. There is an emphasis on program planning,
grantsmanship, and program development in addition to leadership and
supervisory skills.
- The Courses include:
- The Development and Acquisition
of Resources for Early Childhood Programs
- The Elements and Styles of
Leadership for Early Childhood Administrators
- Supervision Methods and Approaches
for Early Childhood Administrators
- The
Profession and Public Policy in Early Childhood Education covers an introduction to child and youth care policy
and child advocacy. An overview of the history of child and youth care
is provided. Specific skills and techniques in child advocacy are presented.
