Secondary Biology Education

NSU Makes Education Unique

The bachelor of science in secondary biology education offered by the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Fischler School of Education and Human Services (FSEHS) provides a comprehensive set of pedagogical courses specifically designed for biology instruction, a specialty component with a variety of science courses composing the content of the secondary biological sciences based on the Florida Sunshine State Science Standards, and the current State-wide assessment in the sciences at grades 6 to 12. Biology certification is a generic certification that allows teachers to provide instruction at the middle school level as well as many biological and environmental courses at the high school level. This program is offered at the main campus in Davie-Fort Lauderdale in addition to online.*

* Please note that the biology concentration requires a three week summer lab seminar on our main campus for students completing the degree online. On-campus housing is available.
